How do I avoid plagiarism?
Answer
Cite your sources! Most cases of plagiarism occur when a source is quoted or paraphrased incorrectly or when not all of your sources have been cited. When writing a paper or creating a research project, you need to acknowledge every source that you have used. You typically do this by citing your sources within the text of your paper and at the end of your paper in some type of bibliography.
If you're ever in doubt as to whether a source should be cited, cite it just in case. It's far better to cite too much than not enough. Use the resources below to learn more about what needs to be cited as well as how to cite your sources.
