What is a trade publication?

Answer

A trade publication (sometimes called trade journal or trade magazine) is a periodical that is a collection of articles published regularly and targeted to members of a specific profession.

For example, the trade publication Library Journal is specifically published for librarians, and its articles will be about all aspects of the library profession.  There are trade publications for all types of professions.
