Does the library provide books in braille?

Answer

We have just a few children's books in braille as examples of braille books.

However, if you are in need of braille or digital talking books, please visit the New York State Talking Book and Braille Library (TBBL).  This is a library that provides free service for New Yorkers who are unable to use standard print materials.  They provide:

  • Print braille books
  • Fiction and nonfiction audio and braille books
  • Digital talking books and digital talking book players
  • More than 70 magazine subscriptions

The website provides information on eligibility, a catalog of their braille and talking book collections, and online reference services for questions about TBBL.
