How do I request an item for pickup?

Answer

You can place requests for books, DVDs, and other items available in the library by placing a Request for Pickup on them.  We'll collect them for you, so you can pick them up at the Circulation desk.

  • Use the Discovery Search to place pickup requests on items.
  • Search for your items.
  • Click on the title of an item to go into its record.  In the dropdown menu "Access options," select "Place Request."   If not already, you will be prompted to sign into your library account.
  • The pickup location will be the Circulation desk.  Click on "Place Request."

You have now requested the item and will receive an email when it's available for pickup at the Circulation Desk.  You can see what items have been requested and choose to cancel them by clicking on "Requests and Loans" on the dashboard to the left.

An open box in an item record with the words "Place Request" on the top left. The title and author of the book are next followed by a shaded box indicating the Circulation Desk as the pickup location. Buttons on the bottom of the box offer the option to cancel or place request.
